Veteran jazz guitarist/vocalist Doc Dosco will bring a warm and intimate performance to your wedding or party. Doc Dosco sings in the style of Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole - uptempo swing, (Almost Like Being In Love) standards (Fly Me To The Moon) romantic ballads and easy listening jazz, (Bye Bye Blackbird) and blues (Smooth Talkin' Baby) and oldies radio tunes(Summertime)

Doc is a noted Los Angeles guitarist with an impressive background. He plays instrumental jazz in the style of Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass and George Benson. Doc's bluesy jazz guitar captivates listeners with a beautiful melodic style.

Doc performs solo guitar and has the Doc Dosco Trio with guitar, upright bass and drums.

Although Doc Dosco specializes in jazz and standards, he also has music for guests of all ages and types, sets of blues, rockabilly, R&B, oldies and even country for those who want a change of pace. Doc says "I am known as a jazz guitarist, with a large repertoire of jazz/standards and bossa novas, but I have more than 40 years worth of other kinds of material I can pull out when requested."

Doc plays as a single (instumental solo guitar or guitar with vocals) a duo with upright bass, and has his trio with drums. Horns and keys can be added for a big band sound. Doc plays and sings jazz, standards, romantic ballads and many other styles if requested and is great for weddings, wedding ceremonies, cocktails, dinners, or for a reception or party. Doc's vocal song list and instrumental repertoire is perfect for background, easy listening or for dinning and dancing.

Thelma Jones:

Gospel vocalist Thelma Jones moved to R&B when she recorded the original version of "The House That Jack Built." Her following realease was "Salty Tears," a great tearful ballad that put Thelma on the pop charts. The self titled album "Thelma Jones" was originally recorded for Columbia in 1978 (re-mastered and re-released by Sony in 2005), and contains Smokey Robinson's "I Second That Emotion". In 1987 Barry Records released the single "Never Leave Me." She has followed up with several more recordings, the last being the critically acclaimed CD "Law Of Old" in 2002.

Recording artist Thelma Jones and her music:

From the New York Apollo Theatre to concert stages everywhere, the electrifying Miss Thelma Jones has performed beside the leading artists of our time -- BB King, Otis Redding James Brown, Cool and the Gang, Freda Paine, The Ojays, The Four Tops, Little Milton, and many, many more. Thelma Jones has recorded many popular R&B Soul albums over the years, and is especially noted for her single releases. I Can Dream has received much critical acclaim and gets radio play in the smooth jazz market. Salty Tears not only broke the top 40 charts in the US but was a big hit in England where it is currently on many radio playlists in it's new re-released Sony version. Thelma's other radio songs are I'd Rather Leave While I'm In Love, I Second That Emotion, Never Leave Me and The House That Jack Built. Thelma's blues vocal stylings are stunning, Saved By the Blues and Once And For All being two prime examples.

Thelma Jones is an absolutely spellbinding vocalist that sings the classiest standards along with her R&B Soul recordings. As David Nathan of says "Thelma's soulful vocals are incredible". Thelma Jones is not only a world renowned recording artist but she is a wonderful live performer too. Doc backs her on solo guitar as a duo playing classic standards and romantic ballads (in the tradition of the great Ella Fitzgerald and jazz guitarist Joe Pass). They also do a show with a soft jazz flavored trio for small supper club styled gatherings, or they can perform an up tempo show of R&B, Soul and Blues featuring many of Thelma's signature radio songs. Whether booked as a duo, trio or full orchestra for special shows or big venues, Thelma Jones with Doc Dosco and his band will fit the bill nicely.

Testimonials for Doc and his trio:

The following testimonial was received from Steve Buccellato of Los Angeles:

"Our experience with Doc Dosco is a true Internet success story! My
wife and I wanted a jazz trio to perform at our wedding, but we had no
idea how to find the right band. After an exhaustive search on the
Internet, I found Doc's website which included some audio samples I
enjoyed. After a quick email, we arranged to come down and watch one of
their gigs and we liked what we heard."
"In between sets, Doc played us some samples and we quickly decided on a
simple, accoustic guitar for the ceremony and the whole trio to play at
the reception during cocktails. The event took place at the Jonathan
Club in downtown Los Angeles and went off without a hitch."
"Doc Dosco and his band added greatly to the classy setting and warm
mood. We don't plan to get married again, but if we ever need a jazz
trio in the future, we'll be calling Doc! Thanks Doc, for helping to
make our special night so special!"

"I really appreciate you and your band members making the drive to Santa
Barbara to play. EVERYONE loved you guys!"
"Here is a testimonial - The Doc Dosco Trio is a 'must have' for your
next party! I threw a small, intimate birthday party for my husband's
40th and everyone loved the band! They did a great job of knowing when
to play mellow sets and when to crank things up! Equally important, they
showed up on time and were extremely nice. You can tell they love to jam
together and really cared about making the party a success."

"You and the guys did a great job!! Here's my testimonial:"
"We recently hired Doc and his trio to play at my wife's birthday

performance. They played a perfect mix of upbeat jazz, swinging
standards and bossa nova, creating a classy musical backdrop for the
evening. Every single one of our guests complimented the trio for
their musical stylings and remarked that the addition of the live group

The following testimonial was received from Helen Shelton of Lake View Terrace:

	             Helen's Special Patio Party
There's only one word that would describe Doc's performance at my after
		5:00 patio party - "F-a-a-a-a-b-u-l-u-o-s!!"
I requested that Doc come alone to play for my guests, because it was a
rather small group. He is a great talent! He played tunes that we all
"remembered" and encouraged us to sing along, I can't remember when I've
had so much fun. After a week my guests are still talking about how
		wonderful he was.
Thank you Doc for making that night, a night to remember!
